Exploring Bioinformatics for Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) Data
Workshop & Roundtable Discussion
Presenter: Zain Alvi, Ph.D., Bioinformatics Scientist II, Azenta Life Sciences
About the WGS Bioinformatics Workshop & Roundtable
Bioinformatics is an important tool for understanding complex biological data generated from whole genome sequencing (WGS) analysis; however, it can be difficult to interpret. In this recording of our live, interactive workshop led by Azenta Life Sciences' bioinformatics scientist Zain Alvi, Ph.D., we'll guide you through the bioinformatics process so you can learn how to analyze WGS results. Additionally, Azenta Life Sciences experts address common challenges in WGS bioinformatics analysis and answer frequently asked questions (FAQs) during the following roundtable discussion.
What You'll Learn:
- Important considerations for your genome of interest
- Additional resources to learn more about bioinformatics
- Azenta Life Sciences' bioinformatics pipeline
Bioinformatics Topics Covered:
- Evaluating sequence quality
- Trimming reads
- Mapping reads to a reference genome
- Comparing and generating hit counts for gene/exons
- Analyzing gene ontology
